Welcome to the open Digital-Seas !

What is Digital-Seas?

Digital-Seas is your free open ship information archive. It serves you with realtime AIS position data as well as many infos from about thousands of vessels. Use the Vessel Search and dive into the Ship Database.
Fleetmon is a tool to document positions of vessels on maps. Using our unique interface, you can easily upload and edit content. We publish the results on our website and to Google Earth. To see the real time vessel tracker in action, check out our Fleetmon and learn how this ship - monitor can be used.

Our vision is to develop tools, our users can use during their jobs, or in their hobby times. We would love to make contacts all over the world and also collect data from many places. There are not many exciting doings for us, like sharing ideas, infos and data.

Since we are developing these tools for the public we are always glad to get feedback, advice, or hints. Please give us your feedback.
We will do our best to develop the tools that you would want to have.

Where we live (right now:)

We work in the Hanseatic town of Rostock, the largest city in the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Rostock's economy is predominated by shipbuilding, tourism and navigation. With about 150 entries per year (36 cruise liners, 160,000 passengers) Rostock is the most important German cruise-port of call. In Warnemünde, a resort and recreation area which has experienced 160 years of history as a seaside resort, the river Warnow flows into the Baltic Sea. All this contributes to a highly maritime atmosphere in the town, inspiring us to develop this way of being connected to the Sea.
