What is MobTrack?
Just imagine your phone is able to send your realtime position to anybody in your family or buddys. They and you could track your ways and even could be informed, when you are back home or at the restaurant. Sounds strange ?
We will open here a place for experiments and some testing. We think the ship-spotting community could get in touch with each other in real live easier, recording positions together with images could give more precision or simply speed, when sorting them later on.
The technical principle is very easy:
- let the phone track the position with gps
- send the position-data by gprs to a server on the net
- view your position on a website (track it, set alert zones, show history infos)
Try it out:
use your digital-seas.com account to send some data with your phone and watch you movements live, right here with MobTrackView.
HowTo Install:
- login into Digital-Seas .com
- check on your account data
- download MobTrackLite to your phone (.jad for OverTheAir) use the links down on this webpage
- install the app on your phone and start it
- put your DS Account info into the Preferences of the TelephoneApp
- start tracking positions with "Track"
- the phone will send your position to the DS Server , and you can watch it in the same moment on this page (real time)
Give us some feedback:
Martin (who is developing the phone app) and me (MindOpen) will extensively test the app over the next weeks and show our positions when traveling here.
We would be glad about feedback and experiences from you:
use the comment part at this page or
send mails to info(at)digital-seas.com
Note: for all out there with a phone without internal GPS, there will be soon a version with bluetooth support, so you could use an external GPS reciever for tracking
Download the Mobtrack Client for JAVA Phones
Please use the .jad .jar files for deployment over-the-air (OTA) or download the files to your desktop to use your PhoneManager sotware for install:
